The Narwhals (formerly The Feaver) are a young, alternative, Los Angeles based, rock band, formed in 2010. Their music is heavily influenced by modern rock groups, such as The Strokes, and indie rock groups like The Vaccines and Arctic Monkeys. They have been a band since they were barely teenagers and their original music reflects their coming-of-age experiences filtered through a sound and musical talent mature beyond their years. The Narwhals are made up by Dylan Minnette (singer/guitarist), Zack Mendenhall (bass), Cole Preston (drums) and Braeden Lemasters (singer/guitarist).
Dylan (born in Evansville, IN) and Braeden (born in Warren, Ohio) met at a young age through their acting careers in Los Angeles. They quickly bonded over their mutual love to write and perform music. Pursuing this, they joined a teen music program in Van Nuys where they met Cole (born in Los Angeles, CA). Braeden’s father, a music coach, helped find and enlist Zack Mendenhall (born in Valencia, CA). Within a short amount of time they formed The Feaver where they quickly began writing and performing original music.

The band gained quick notoriety in their first year after winning the 98.7 Rockstar Competition in 2010, claiming prizes including $10,000, studio time, and meetings with major recording labels. Since this time they have booked huge events such as the highly prestigious Vans Warped Tour in 2011, and famous LA venues, including The Roxy, The Whisky a Go Go, the Troubadour, the Viper Room, and more. Their song “Bleeding Man” was even selected for the promo of season 2 of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.

They have recorded in major studios such as Swinghouse and at Danny Masterson’s Bronson Island. In August 2013, they travelled to Chicago to attend Lollapallooza and play the House of Blues. In early 2014 the band changed their name from “The Feaver” to “The Narwhals”. Currently they are recording new music in a make-shift studio in Zack’s living room and actively booking new shows.
