Clap for Daylight features a musical flexibility and unique style that surpasses genre classification. The band's distinctive tracks speak a musical vocabulary that mixes soaring melodies, lush layers, and earnest lyrics that resonate with listeners immediately. The mix of progressive chord structures and melancholy sweetness echo Death Cab for Cutie and Jeff Buckley while creating a sound all their own.
Hailing from Atlanta, Greg Vilines, Alex Arnett, David Oliver, and Mitch Kiley are pushing their sound to the next level with the release of their new EP Fire Escape. Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Matt Goldman at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta, the new album pushes the band to new heights of scale and musical maturity. "Fire Escape is the sound of a band coming together and really knowing what it wants," says singer / guitarist Vilines. "I'm so proud of this album because it did exactly what we wanted to do....make music that we find both interesting and entertaining, which is hard to do at the same time."
It seems like the world is noticing, too...Indie Music Reviewer has already highlighted Clap for Daylight's lead single "One and the Same": "Clap for Daylight truly owns this. It’s one of those songs that grows on you, and when you hit that chorus, it just screams sing along." It's an exciting next step for a band that's sure to keep climbing.
