The Bros. Landreth
The Bros. Landreth are two-time JUNO Award winners from Winnipeg known for their blend of guitar-driven, soulful, blood-harmony roots music. The band, whose core consists of brothers Dave and Joey Landreth, has earned critical acclaim and a devoted following for their heartfelt songs, inventive musicianship, and powerful live performances. From their earliest days attending their father’s gigs as babies, as Dave recalls, “Mom would tuck us into a bassinet and slide us under the bar tables,” the brothers have spent a lifetime touring rock clubs, theaters, and music festivals across North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia. Notable appearances include performances at the Byron Bay Blues Festival in Australia and Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Los Angeles. In 2023, the band reached another milestone when Joey and Dave became Grammy-winning songwriters after Bonnie Raitt’s cover of their song “Made Up Mind” from their debut album Let It Lie won the Grammy for Americana Performance of the Year. The recognition was a meaningful nod from one of their musical heroes, as the band’s sound draws inspiration from the records of their childhood, including Bonnie Raitt’s blues, Little Feat’s funky country-rock, Ry Cooder’s eclectic instrumentals, and Lyle Lovett’s twangy traditionalism, creating a style that honors the past while firmly rooted in the present. 🎸
Madeleine Roger
Madeleine Roger (she/her) is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Canada. While skillfully accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, it is her artistry as a songwriter that can silence a room, uniting her lyrical prowess with breathtaking melodies that linger long after they are sung.
Her newest collection of songs is a deeply personal body of work examining every nook and cranny of love and loss. It is unflinchingly honest, and is the result of three years of soul-digging, experimentation, and fine-tuning – Madeleine has poured over every word. Nerve, the album created in the process (out August 2024 on Birthday Cake Records) is her sophomore solo release, and it touches the exposed nerve left over from a breakup with a long-term lover and musical collaborator, the death of a soul-friend, the secret of an unrequited love, months of caring for a dying grandparent, and finding a curious peace in spite of it. It was produced by Josh Kaufman (Bob Weir, Bonny Light Horseman, Hiss Golden Messenger, Anaïs Mitchell) and recorded in four days in Kingston NY by engineer D. James Goodwin (The National, Fruit Bats, The Hold Steady).
